Illumination Competition
|
Within the Stuckeman Family Building at Penn State, there are two floors of studio space, both of which have a light shelf and eight feet of wall above that is poorly washed with fluorescent lights. This lighting effect spans almost the entire interior west side of the building. As a group of three architects, one landscape architect, and three lighting engineers, we've proposed an economical design that would require the replacement of dysfunctional bulbs while keeping the original fixtures. On the blank wall above, we designed an undulating city fabric texture that would provide the users of the building with an educational and inspirational tool.
