Hajjar Competition

To design a house for a landscape painter, the artist must have connections with the outdoors. The house is composed of two elements: a heavy, enclosed, masonry space and a light, open space. The open space causes the artist to be immersed in the nature that surrounds them so as to provide them with inspiration. The closed portion allows the artist to seek shelter and solitude when necessary. Together, these elements blur the line between inside and outside, allowing the artist to reach their fullest potential.
